Blog Entry #1-Why did I choose this class?


I chose this class because it sounded interesting when I was reading the course description and I was attracted to how does reel food can impact our society, class and identity. I want to know the idea of analyzing different films relate and the  meaning how we can use food in the movies and in our daily life. Another reason I chose this class because I want to get out of my comfort zone and have a growth mindset taking this course. I want to know more about different movies relating how many cultural and interaction  the world. I have a basic meaning of how to create a movie. The idea of getting to watch movies for class and have a discussion based on what we learned sounds fun to me. I also want to see how I learn and branch out of my knowledge throughout this course.   

In this course I want to accomplish a deeper understanding how food can impact the cultural and many people in the world. I want to learn how the food how can change people's mood and motivation. I want to learn more about how I could grow as a McDaniel student in this course. I hope to be a successful analyzing movies, so that I can apply in real world situations. My major is Kinesiology, I have to analyze human movements and which food is healthy for the human body. Addition, everyone has a different  body a diet for food that we eat everyday. In sports, Food is a huge key because you can see your performance in school and at your job. In this course, I hope to learn about the different ways in which countries and cultures around the world in different ways to express food from the cooks in the movies and the language that reflect who they are.  

My favorite film about food is “Ratatouille” by Brad Bird; this is probably my favorite film featuring food because it one great chef that is a rat becoming a great chef. During the movie, the rat named Remy, he has a good sense of which food is better than trash at the beginning. Ramy have a conflict between his father who is a leader in the pack of rats. Throughout the film, Ramy moves Paris to follow his dream; which help a garbage boy Linguini he put his culinary skills to the test in the kitchen. Overall, Ramy have a chance to prove his skills and abilities to a great food critic.
