In Big Night by Stanley Tucci and Campbell Scott. This film is about two brothers who run an Italian restaurant in New Jersey during the 1950s. The two brothers are named Primo and Secondo, Primo is the older brother who has a talent for cooking and the very tradition of making Italian foods. Secondo is a young brother who is the manager of the restaurant. Their business is not going well as a rival Italian restaurant because the rival Italian restaurant is out-competing them. They are both in the same neighborhood. In the final actions that might save the restaurant, the two brothers put on an evening event to invite people to enjoy the night with their delicious Italian meals.   
The relationship between the two brothers Primo and Secondo in their situation. They are first-generation Italian immigrants who came to American. They left their hometown Rome because they were chasing their dream and opened an Italian restaurant. Primo, who is the older brother, follows his family tradition as an Italian person with his younger brother. Meanwhile, two American couples went to eat at their restaurant. The woman who is an American, she does understand the meaning of their cooking why does not have “ Meatballs on top of the pasta. Secondo explains to the American couple that some pasta does not serve meatballs on top. So Primo was mad that they wanted to serve meatballs on the side dish. On the other hand, Secondo is none-tradition because he is trying to grow the restaurant, but Secondo’s situation is that he is dating an American lady named Phyllis who he does not love, but he is secretly cheating on her with Gabriella. Addition Secondo is working with the owner of the revival restaurant. 
At the end of the film Big Night, Primo and Secondo are ready for the evening event that they are hosting for the people who are visiting their Italian restaurant. During the event, many people are ready to eat. They serve appetizers with bread, cheeses, and drinks like red and white wine at the main table. When everyone is enjoying the night, Primo and Secondo are ready to serve their favorite dish named timpani. For example, in the film, Primo and Secondo are excited to see the result of timpani because it is like they are in love as a baby come in the real world for the first time. Timpano is their hometown tradition because timpani is an Italian baked dish consisting of pasta, rice, or potatoes with one or more other ingredients included. When everyone was eating Timpano, everyone's reaction was in awe because the food was incredible to taste. However, In the film, Primo figures out the situation between Secondo and him because the revival restaurant told him the truth about the person who was not coming to save their restaurant. So Primo and Secondo got into a fight on the beach because of their issues with their restaurant.

Dr. McNichols, during her guest lecture on Like Water for Chocolate , discusses the  history of Mexico and Spain as it relates to traditions depicted in the book. During the film, two characters fall in love with each other, but their love creates a conflict between their families . How does Sandra Nettelbeck, “Mostly Martha” represent love and romance in the film? The love and romance are similarities shown through a mystery storyline that audiences aren’t expecting to happen. The two characters develop deep feelings with each other and switch a piece of the storyline. The storyline made up of the four main roles are sound quantity, narrative, lighting, and cooking.   First, sound quantity plays an important role in this film through the background music. It expresses the character's emotions and body language.
